Our question: Where will they be detained?

“The Senate on Monday, January 26, issued a warrant for the arrest of Makati Mayor Junjun Binay and five others for their refusal to attend the hearing of the Blue Ribbon Committee on alleged corruption in the country’s premier financial district,” reports Jamin Verde on InterAksyon.com.

An ANC report had enumerated Binay’s co-accused:

1. Eudeviges “Ebeng” Baloloy, Vice President Binay’s aide who allegedly received kickbacks on his behalf
2. Marjorie de Veyra, former Makati City administrator
3. Atty. Eleno Mendoza, Makati City administrator
4. Engr. Line dela Peña, Makati City engineer
5. Bernadette Portollano, corporate secretary of Omni Security, a company that bagged 9 contracts worth almost P300 million from the Makati City government since 2013

The reporst added that “Pimentel also earlier recommended the same decision for University of Makati president Tomas Lopez.” However, Pimentel withdrew his recommendation against Lopez after the latter wrote a letter saying that he will appear in the next Senate hearing.
