Sen. JV Ejercito posts PHP6K bail, wants to clear his name ASAP

He seems confident that he’ll get out of this fix.

“Senator JV Ejercito is hoping for a speedy trial on his technical malversation case over a PHP2.1-million firearm deal he entered into back when he was the mayor of San Juan City in 2008,” reports Leila B. Salaverria in Phillippine Daily Inquirer.

According to the Office of the Ombudsman, the money used for the purchase of irearms came from the San Juan City government’s calamity fund.

On Wed, Jun 22, the Sandiganbayan 6th Division had ordered Ejercito’s arrest for technical malversation case, but the senator easily posted the PHP6,000-bail on the same day.

Ejercito was quoted as saying, “If possible, I hope there would be weekly hearings so that this would be over, to be able to clear my name as quickly as possible.”
