Now, we’re confused.
“Sen. Jinggoy Estrada has realigned his PHP200-million Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) to three local government units (LGUs), with PHP100 million going to Manila where his father, Erap Estrada, is mayor,” reports Jess Diaz in The Philippine Star.
The report explained: “The Philippine Star found this out yesterday, Jan 7, when it made inquiries as to why there is a total of PHP200 million in the 2014 national budget in financial subsidies specifically for Manila, Caloocan City and Lla-lo town in Cagayan. Caloocan City and Lla-lo received PHP50 million each.”
The report said they tried to get in touch with Sen. Francis Escudero, who is the Senate finance committee head and co-chairman of the conference committee on the budget, but he did not respond to a text message-query. So, they got in touch with his co-chairman and House counterpart, Davao City Rep. Isidro Ungab, who explained, “(The subsidies that Sen,. Jinggoy Estrada gave) came from his PDAF, which he realigned, with the approval of the Senate finance committee and the Senate plenary.”
So, as they say, pwede pala ‘yun?
