“At a Senate hearing on Wednesday, Senator Grace Poe reiterated the need for the Philippine National Police (PNP) to strengthen its capability to combat automated teller machine (ATM) fraud to ensure the welfare of depositors,” reports ANC.
Poe likewise presented to the Senate a sample of plates that criminals put on top of ATM keypads. She said the said fake plates are used by syndicates involved in ATM fraud.

“Lahat tayo ninenerbyos ‘pag di makakuha ng pera sa ATM. Dapat tiyakin ang seguridad nito para sa kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan (We all get nervous when we can’t get our money from the ATM. This is why the security of these machines should be ensured),” said Poe.
