Senator Bong Revilla on Wed, Sep 30, admitted that he once considered running for President in 2016.

In an ambush interview at the Sandiganbayan, Revilla said he would have to set aside his political plans for now as he strives to clear his name from allegations that he pocketed PHP242 million from his priority development assistance fund (PDAF).

“At a loss ako. You’d feel the same in my place. I have to admit that I really planned to run for Presdient. I think that’s one of the reasons why I was put in jail. Be that as it may, all I can say is I am still young and Bong Revilla will rise again),” the senator told reporters.

Revilla said that he will instead soon announce whom he will support in the elections.

Revilla was at the anti-graft court for the pre-trial hearing of the plunder case against him and his aide, Atty. Richard Cambe. Revilla’s pre-trial has since been moved to Feb 2016.
