Everyone was expecting him to resign, but he didn’t.
“On Monday, June 9, Senator Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla Jr. delivered a privilege speech in response to his being charged with plunder in the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam,” reports ANC.
For starters, “Revilla pointed out that the pork scam controversy wasn’t helping the country in any way.” He then told President Noynoy Aquino, “Lead the country with love, not with hatred.” (Or something to that effect.)
Then, in the latter half of his speech, Revilla began thanking God, his family, and his colleagues. This prompted people to think he was resigning.
Alas, he only played a music video with a song that he himself had sung.
Before he played the song, he said, “”Makulong man ako, ngunit di nila makukulong ang aking pangarap at pagmamahal sa bayan (They may jail me, but they can’t imprison my hope and love for the country).”
Sadly, we cannot get back the minutes we lost watching his music video.
