‘Selfie’ chosen as ‘Word of the Year’ by National Commission for Culture and the Arts

Isn’t this a bit late? If you ask us, No. 10 would have been the more apt (but unfortunate) choice.

” ‘Selfie,’ which was first chosen ‘Word of the Year’ by the Oxford Dictionaries in 2013, has been chosen as ‘Word of the Year’ by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for 2014,” reports Nestor Corrales on Inquirer.net.

Aside from selfie, ‎other words which the NCCA considered were:

1. bossing

2. CCTV

3. endo

4. Filipinas

5. hashtag

6. imba

7. kalakal

8. PDAF

9. peg

10 riding-in-tandem

11. storm surge

12. whistle-blower
