Seized: 5,127 pairs of fake Lacoste slippers worth PHP7.6 million

We have to admit that fake things have fans, too.

“Operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recently seized some PHP7.6 million worth of fake Lacoste slippers during a recent operation in Pasay City,” reports Leonard D. Postrado in the Manila Bulletin.

All in all, the authorities seized 5,127 pairs of fake Lacoste slippers from some stalls and stockrooms located inside the Sherwin Building and 899 Shopping Mall, both located on F.B. Harrison Street.

According to the report, the owners of the raided spots will be charged with trademark infringement under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines or Republic Act 8293.
