Security guard shot dead in robbery

The place that got robbed wasn’t even in his jurisdiction.

“On Sunday, April 27, Rhom dela Cruz, 34, a security guard of JERSAN Security Agency and assigned at Nice Hotel, and of 632 Pangarap Village, Caloocan City was shot dead by the robbers as they were fleeing from a nearby LBC Express Inc. branch,” reports Francis T. Wakefield in Tempo.

According to the police, the incident took place at about 8:51am, when two men entered the LBC office and declared a robbery at gunpoint. The two lady employees were asked to hand over their earnings.

As the robbers exited the store, Dela Cruz saw them. They shot him. Then, as witneses later revealed, the robbers “boarded two motorcycles driven by two companions who most probably also acted as look-outs.”

Police are checking CCTV footage in an attemot to determine the identities of the suspets.
