A loaded weapon sometimes does more harm than good.
On Monday afternoon, Mar 17, 17-year-old Roland Dagudoy and 10-year-old Christian Santos were taking a bath at a river near the DRB Compound in Malabon City.
“Unfortunately, security guard Jose Genorga, 25, who was nearby, fired his shotgun and hit Dagudoy and Santos,” reports Rey Galupo in The Philippine Star.
According to Genorga, the shotgun he was holding went off after he tripped. He claimed it was an accident.
Dagudoy was pronounced dead on arrival at the Tondo General Hospital, while Santos was rushed to the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center where he is still under observation.
Genorga surrendered to the police after the accidental shooting. The report didn’t say if charges would be filed against him.
