Rosell Bondoc, 18, was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time when Vhon Martin Tanto shot and killed cyclist Mark Vincent Garalde in Quiapo, Manila.
Bondoc was hit by a stray bullet that “grazed her kidney,” according to a report on 24 Oras on GMA. She was brought to two other hospitals before she was admitted to Mary Chiles Hospital in Sampaloc, Manila, where the bullet was removed and she was admitted into intensive care.
On Friday, Bondoc’s doctor Dr. Domingo Reyes told 24 Oras that the victim is now in a more stable condition.
“Stable na ang vital signs niya: blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate. Bago yung urinary output,” Reyes told Maricel Abdurahman of GMA News.
Rowena Dunca, Bondoc’s aunt, told GMA News that Bondoc continues to persevere in her studies despite being an orphan and hopes to be a physical therapist someday. Their family welcomes the news of Tanto’s arrest and murder charges.
Bondoc will be taking a break from school while she takes her time to recover from her injury.
