Scavenger finds man’s dead body in garbage bag

Is Quezon City the favorite dumping ground of criminals?

“Joselito Arellano, who is identified as a scavenger, recently found the garbage bag in Barangay San Roque in Quezon Avenue,” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Kori Quintos on ABS-CBNnews.com.

Arellano said he got suspicious when the garbage bag seemed to have “dead weight.” He alerted the police in the area about what he found. When the police opened the bag, sure enough, they saw the body of a man. They estimated that he was around 35 to 40 years old.

The report revealed that “a close inspection showed that the man had a ‘Commando’ tattoo on his arm and the name ‘Roland’ inked on his chest.”

The slain man’s face had been was covered with a sack. His chest had a wound that was possibly caused by an ice pick, while his neck bore signs of strangulation.

Authorities believe that the still-unidentified man was the subject of a summary execution. The investigation is ongoing.
