If you want to become a police officer, deal with their staff only inside their offices.
Operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested on Wednesday, Nov 13, a man who claimed to facilitate the application of a woman wanting to become a police officer.
In its official Twitter account, the NCRPO identified the suspect as Jesus Bulao, who was arrested after the office’s recruitment secretariat staged an entrapment operation.
The victim sought police assistance after Bulao, who told the applicant he was a police inspector, offered to facilitate his police application in exchange for PHP50,000. The victim Monette Daggao, said she had already paid Bulao PHP25,000 in May.
She got the suspect to agree to bring down the next installment to P10,000 and they agreed to meet for the payout on Wednesday. With undercover operatives monitoring the exchange, Daggao gave the money to the suspect, who was immediately arrested.
During the course of their interaction, Daggao said Bulao introduced himself as Insp. James Rodriguez.
Bulao will be charged with a number of felonies.
