SC to bar examinees: Put all your stuff in clear plastic

The rule makes sense, though…but forget about privacy.

“Highlighting the seriousness with which officials in charge of this year’s bar examinations are taking the security aspects, the Supreme Court no less has advised the 2014 examinees to keep their stuff in see-through bags, much like those required by airlines for passengers,” reports Brian Maglungsod on InterAksyon.com.

SC Associate Justice Diosdado Peralta explained in a memorandum that “the use of transparent bags will speed up the inspection of their bags and personal belongings by security personnel.”

The report noted: “The exams will be held at the University of Sto. Tomas for four consecutive Sundays of October.”

At least 6,344 Law graduates are scheduled to take this year’s test.

The report added that “security at bar examinations has been tightened since an improvised explosive device was hurled at a group of bar examinees in 2010 at De La Salle University’s Taft Avenue campus.”
