It’s just not his day.
“On Tuesday, February 17, the Supreme Court affirmed an earlier decision disqualifying Emilio Ramon ‘E.R.’ Ejercito as Laguna governor, a post he won in 2013, due to campaign overspending,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
The SC stated: “The Court denied the motion for reconsideration filed by petitioner Ejercito of its decision dated November 25, 2015 [sic] on the ground that the basic issues raised in the motion for reconsideration had already been passed upon and that no substantial new arguments had been raised to merit a consideration.”
The report noted that “the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Ejercito spent up to PHP23,563,365.28 for his campaign even when he was only authorized to spend PHP4,576,566 or PHP3 for every registered voter in the province.”
