Sandiganbayan orders arrest of North Cotabato Governor Lala Mendoza

The future doesn’t look bright for Governor Emmylou ‘Lala’ Taliño-Mendoza.

The Sandiganbayan First Division ordered her arrest for anomalous amounts of fuel purchased from a gasoline station owned by her mother.

“The Ombudsman indicted Mendoza on three counts of graft for the release of P2.4 million from provincial funds to pay for 49,526.72 liters of fuel used for one road grader and four dump trucks utilized during the two-day road rehabilitation projects,” reported Isa Avendaño-Umali for Inquirer.

The anti-graft court also found probable cause to order the issuance of a warrant of arrest against the North Cotabato governor.

Mendoza is also barred by the Bureau of Immigration from leaving the country.
