The thing is, she may not even notice that they’ve taken it.
Based on her 2013 Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN), Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos is the second wealthiest member of the House of Representatives with cash and properties totaling P992.8 million.
“The Sandiganbayan has forfeited the PHP1.25-million travel bond posted by Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos for her visit to China last May” reports Michael Punongbayan in The Philippine Star.
The report explained that “the forfeiture was in partial fulfillment of the PHP11.95-million judgment cost imposed by the court against the assets of the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos.”
In September 2010, the Sandiganbayan had ruled that the former president pocketed PHP10 million from the Philippine National Bank account of the National Food Authority and transferred the amount to a private account on July 27, 1983.
As such, Mrs. Marcos’ travel bond was forfeited because she was named legal representative of her spouse.
