San Juan man gets six months for stealing water meters

A man found guilty of stealing water meters (for some reason) has been sentenced to six months in prison by a San Juan City court, a development that Manila Water Company Inc hailed.

Rolando Villasor, apprehended by village watchmen in January, initially pleaded not guilty but changed his plea on April 2. It was Villasor’s third time to get caught and charged for stealing water meters, Manila Water said in a People’s Journal report.

Manila Water said it will continue coordinating with the San Juan City government as well as with other local governments in its water concession area.

“We encourage everybody to immediately inform us if they know anybody engaged in meter theft, tampering and other illegal activities. The public can report any suspected illegal activities to our Customer Care Hotline 1627,” Manila Water business operations director Ferdinand Dela Cruz said in the report.
