San Juan gets 2 new anti-flood pumping stations

May they keep the city flood-free.

“On Monday, Mar 17, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Monday the opening of two new floodwater pumping stations in San Juan City,” reports Joel E. Zurbano in Manila Standard Today.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino and San Juan Mayor Guia Gomez were at the inauguration of the two stations at Rivera Village and Salapan Village.

Tolentino explained, These additional facilities will complement the Balong Bato pumping station which became operational last year. Hopefully, these pumping stations will totally spare the city of San Juan from flooding. Having not just one but three pumping stations here in San Juan will provide great relief for the city government and its residents.”

With the addition of the two new San Juan pumping stations, the MMDA now has a total of 54 pumping stations all over Metro Manila.
