Last week, it was reported that a little girl was found dead and naked from the waist down underneath a parked jeepney along Don E. Ejercito Street, Barangay Tibagan, San Juan City.

The girl was believed to have been raped, as her genitals had lacerations.
It turns out the girl wasn’t even a year old yet. Her parents, a homeless couple, have identified her and said she was only 11 months old.
They said they had slept infront of a bank on N. Domingo Street and their daughter was gone when they woke up. They had gone to the police and reported her missing.
CCTV footage retrieved from the house near where the girl was found showed that at around 3am on Friday, August 1, a man had been walking near the area while carrying her.
The man was allegedly a vendor who frequented the area where the girl and her parents also hung out.
“The city government of San Juan on Tuesday, August 5, offered a P100,000 cash reward to anyone who could provide information to the whereabouts of the suspect,” reports Francis T. Wakefield in Manila Bulletin.
According to Grace V. Cortes-Pardines, the chief of the San Juan City Public Information Department, the mayor decided to offer the reward to help hasten the arrest of the perpetrator behind the crime. The money will come from city funds.
