Filipinos are champs at making people feel at home.
“French national team star and San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, who came to Manila for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, was amazed by the hospitality of the Filipinos,” reports InterAksyon.com.
On Sat night, Jul 9, the French team won over Canada, 83-74, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. That means Parker and his team are head to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
When asked about his impression of the Philippines, Parker said, “[It’s] unbelievable, the way they welcomed us. People are very friendly. As (basketball) is the no.1 sport here, they showed me a lot of love. I feel like I’m a rock star.”
