Sorry, Galaxy Note 7 owners, you have to give up that phone.
“On Wed, Oct 12, Samsung Philippines urged Galaxy Note 7 owners in the Philippines to power down their devices and exchange them for a different model or get a full refund,” reports ABS-CBN News Online.
In case you didn’t know it yet, the Galaxy Note 7 has some issues. There have been several reported instances of the unit catching fire or exploding during charging. Airlines have even banned it.

The report noted: “The South Korean electronics giant has halted production of the flagship smartphone after replacement units that followed a global recall were found to overheat and catch fire like the original models.”
Samsung explained that “if the customers opt to get the S7 Edge, they would reimburse the price difference with the more expensive Note 7.”
Customers are advised to transact at the store where they bought their phones.
