“The family of Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) legend Avelino “Samboy” Lim Jr. is asking for privacy for now as he remains in the intensive care unit of The Medical City,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report noted that Lim was rushed unconscious to the hospital following a basketball game on Friday, Nov 28.
Those who were at the game said that “the former San Miguel Beerman reportedly collapsed while stretching after being pulled out following six minutes of play at the PBA Legends exhibition game in Pasig City.”
In behalf of Lim’s family, sports analyst Quinito Henson said they’re asking that “there be no media or visitors, adding no details will be announced until the time is right.”
Henson added that the family is “also asking for prayers and understanding.”
