Good news and bad news for motorists: The Department of Public Works and Highways began concrete reblocking and repairs on stretches of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue Thursday evening.
Round-the-clock repairs are expected to cause traffic but DPWH Secretary Rogelio Sison said in a press statement that “the temporary inconvenience cannot outweigh the advantage of the new concrete pavement with longer performance period.” The DPWH expects to finish repairs by Monday, April 15.
The stretches of EDSA that will be affected by the reblocking and repairs are:
PASAY
The southbound lane from General Santos Street to the footbridge after Capt. M. Reyes Street
The northbound lane from E. Rodriguez Street to Estanislao Street
MANDALUYONG
The northbound lane from Reliance Street to Libertad Street
The southbound lane from Boni Avenue to Mayon Street
MAKATI
The southbound portion from Guadalupe to Bernardino Street
The northbound lane before Buendia Avenue to Guadalupe Street
CALOOCAN

Northbound lane in front of Manila Central University Hospital to General Simon Street
QUEZON CITY
Northbound between North Avenue to Corregidor Road
Southbound from Oliveros Street to Kaingin Road
The Quezon City First Engineering District Office will also repair the second southbound lane of Mindanao Avenue from Road 20 to Road 8.
The northbound stretch of Quirino Highway from Mater Carmeli School to Sacred Heart Novitiate and the third southbound lane from Regalado North Avenue to Belfast Street will also be repaired.
Repairs will also be done on North Avenue near SM North and Trinoma, the DPWH said.
