Banking on a furious start, the Houston Rockets notched their first win over the Indiana Pacers, 116-96, in a historic preseason game for Filipino fans who witnessed the first live NBA game in Philippine soil. James Harden led the Rockets with 18 points, allowing Houston to control the game, mounting double-digit leads as much as 17 points. Jeremy Lin chipped in 12 points off the bench, while newly-acquired center Dwight Howard added nine and got Pacer big man Roy Hibbert into early foul trouble. Paul George carried Indiana’s scoring load with 18 markers. The teams headed out to Taipei early Friday for another preseason game as part of the 2013 NBA Global Games.
