Robbers use pizza delivery to invade home

We’re heard stories about robberies in the UP Teachers Village-Sikatuna Village area, but this one is probably one of the most brazen.

“At around 5:20pm on Thursday, May 22, four armed men took advantage of a pizza delivery in order to get inside a house in Barangay Sikatuna Village, Quezon City,” reports Francis T. Wakefield in Manila Bulletin.

According to Supt. Richard Fiesta, chief of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Police Station 9 in Anonas, the homeowners, Leandro and Marilena Laya, were not at home at the time of the robbery.

Housemaids Brenda Mosquera, 36, and Rona Paraon, 46, along with the Laya couple’s son, Lance, had ordered pizza.

The report revealed: “When the pizza delivery personnel, Michael Paquinto, arrived at the house, Mosquera went to open the gate. Three armed suspect barged through the gate as Mosquera and Paquinto went into the house with the pizza delivery. Inside the kitchen, the four victims were ordered to lie face down under the dining table and then took their cash and belongings.”

Then, a fourth suspect then entered the house.

While one of the suspects guarded the three victims, the three others forced Mosquero to open the doors of rooms on the second and third floors of the house.

The robbers took close to PHP350,000 worth of cash and gadgets from its occupants.

Later on, though, one of the four suspects was identified by the victims through the police rogue gallery.

The said suspect was identified as Michael Tolentino of Batasan Hills, Quezon City.

Police are hunting down the suspects.
