Given today’s technology, there are many ways to steal from a bank, but these guys chose to go old school, complete with an L300 getaway van.
On the morning of Apr 18, armed men brazenly robbed an armored van at the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) at the corner of Taft Avenue and Remedios Street in Manila, Inquirer reports.
BPI employees assisted by a technician and a security guard were about to load the money into the ATM machine when the robbers struck.
The authorities are now in the process of identifying the perpetrators using CCTV footage.
Last Oct, a security guard was arrested for taking PHP2.4 M from a BPI branch in Aurora Boulevard, Quezon City.
