A TV Patrol report presented CCTV footage taken from Carlos Palanca Street in Quiapo, Manila. A man is shown hurling himself on a vehicle on purpose.

The man was later seen making a big scene by limping and getting the driver’s attention.

Barangay officials came and told the vehicles driver that they were taking both the man and her to the barangay hall to check out the CCTV footage.

Barangay 306 chairman Joey Uy Jamisola revealed that when it became evident that they were really going to check the footage, The man who was previously seen limping from the “accident” got up and ran.

Jamisola said in Filipino, “He ran so fast that we were not able to get him.”

Jamisola said that the scam has been going on for some time, with some drivers being asked to pay between PHP5,000 to PHP20,000 by con artists.
