It’s less than a month before we see Sen. Manny Pacquiao do his thing in the ring again.
“Boxing coach Freddie Roach feels that Pacquiao is exhausted from all of his out-of-the-ring activities ahead of his WBO world welterweight title showdown with Jessie Vargas on Nov 5 (Nov 6, PH time) at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas,” reports JM Siasat on GMA News Online.
Roach related that Pacquiao “did ten rounds of sparring on Sat, Oct 15.” He explained, “We had a good week, overall it was a productive week. He’s a little bit tired, he has two jobs, but we got through ten rounds [of sparring]. He looked good in the first six, the second guy [he sparred with] really wasn’t that experienced so Manny didn’t try to hurt him at all.”
Roach added: “We’ll spar next week then Sat night (Oct 22) we get on our plane. We have more days of sparring and he can still improve his performance. He’s a little bit tired but those things happen specially when you have two jobs.”
The report noted that Pacquiao and his team are set to depart for Los Angeles this week to hold the final leg of his training camp at Roach’s famed Wild Card Boxing Gym in Los Angeles, California.
Roach pointed out, “As he gets close to the fight it’s the most important thing in the world for him. Boxing is still the best thing he does and he understands that. His focus is 100 percent on boxing.”
