A retired soldier on Sun, Sep 13, attempted to jump off the Skyway exit at Sucat Road, Barangay San Antonio in Parañaque.
Residents of the nearby Barangay BF Homes spotted the incident at around 5 a.m. and alerted the authorities.
The retired soldier was identified as Dante Bautista who hails from Sorsogon.
According to San Antonio resident Steve Galos, Bautista refused to talk to the authorities and insisted instead to speak to the media.
Bautista was convinced to go down after seeing the responding news team’s crew cab.
His reason for climbing the Skyway remains unclear.
Bautista served in the army for 20 years before retiring in 2007.
