Datu Habib Sandalan — a resident of the town of Shariff Aguak in Maguindanao — recently got in touch with InterAksyon.com and claimed that people in some towns in North Cotabato and Maguindanao have alleged that they have been attacked by an “aswang.”

Sandalan also sent a photo of one of the people who have survived the said “aswang attack.”

Sandalan cited the case of a couple at Poblacion 8 who got attacked by “an aswang appearing as a dog.” The said animal had reportedly barged into the couple’s home last Fri, May 22.

Then, Dennis Arcon of InterAksyon.com, also pointed out that at around the same time four residents of Barangay Tapodok, Aleosan, North Cotabato claimed that they, too, were attacked by what they believed was an “aswang.”

In their case, they said that the aswang took on the form of a “black cat.” This was noted in the report of police chief Senior Inspector Ariel Milocotones who, in turn, based it on the information from barangay chairman Kadafhy Taya.

“Aswang attacks” have likewise been reported in the town of Columbia in Sultan Kudarat and Koronadal City in South Cotabato.
