Rep. Sonny Belmonte’s nephew gets carjacked

Will this be the crime that finally prompts lawmakers and law enforcers to take action and prevent Quezon City from being called the “Carjacking Capital of the Philippines”.

“Raymond Belmonte, 47, a nephew of Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, reported the loss of his black Toyota Land Cruiser (UNW-133), which he said was stolen on Sunday, Dec 22, near Thompson Square Plaza at the corner of Tomas Morato and A. Roces Avenues in Barangay Obrero, Quezon City,” reports the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Sometime around 3 pm, Raymond, who was with his wife and son, parked the vehicle before going inside a restaurant on Tomas Morato. Minutes later, Ramond’s son reportedly saw the vehicle being driven by a man wearing a face mask and a blue cap.

The investigation is ongoing.
