The University of the Philippines (UP) Board of Regents has asked UP president Alfredo Pascual for more consultation after being presented the proposed system-wide changes to its tuition scheme.
In a Philippine Star report, UP Staff Regent Jossel Ebesate said the board of regents has yet to arrive at a decision on proposed changes to very controversial Socialized Tuition and Financial Assistance Program (STFAP) rules of the UP system.
Friday’s meeting was said to have been attended by 9 out of 11 regents. The changes or revisions were proposed after the suicide of UP Manila freshman Kristel Tejada over unpaid tuition fees.
