This only added unnecessary confusion to an already-crazy situation.
When high-profile lawyer Raymond Fortun posted what appeared to be a declaration of support for businessman Cedric Lee on his Facebook page, everyone assumed that he had agreed to become the latter’s lawyer.
Apparently, that’s not the case.
“Fortun has clarified that he is acting only as a spokesman and not one of the lawyers of businessman Cedric Lee, who was among those implicated in the mauling of actor Vhong Navarro inside a condominium unit in Taguig City,” reports Mike Frialde on Philstar.com.
In a text message to The Philippine Star, Fortun had typed, “Spokesperson lang po.”
Meanwhile, in his Facebook account, Fortun had stated, “Cedric Lee is, in my eyes, an underdog. Justice must be served but it must not be in accordance with the conductor’s beat of someone along Panay Avenue. So I contribute my voice into this dispute not to twist the truth but to make sense of the madness.”
Well, he seems to be doing his job pretty well.
