Nope, we didn’t use our magical powers to make those colorful clouds appear. We didn’t use photoshop either.

An interesting weather phenomenon appeared in the skies of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur on April 23, sometime between 3-4 pm.

Anne Elle Salikala captured the fluffy formations she called “unicorn clouds,” and posted them on Facebook, where it has been shared over 45,000 times.

We do see the resemblance of the clouds to the mythical creatures!

The weather bureau has not identified the phenomenon just yet, but it looks similar to the paddle pop cloud, which appeared in Singapore in late Feb.

Spoiler alert: The one in Singapore was identified as an iridescent cloud.

According to NASA, “Iridescent clouds are composed of water droplets of similar size that diffract different colors of sunlight by different amounts.”
