Ariane Gonzaga, 25, left her iPod Touch and other effects inside a cab, but she was able to get her stuff back – thanks to Instagram.
According to Inquirer, Ariane left her pouch – which contained her iPod Touch, her ID, wallet, contact lenses, cigarettes, and lighter – inside the cab that she took on her way home after a New Year’s Eve party at around 5 a.m.
She was already starting to accept the whole situation when she saw an Instagram photo of two girls that got shared on her own Facebook account. She figured that the two girls didn’t know that the photo they took using Ariane’s Instagram account via iPod Touch would get reflected on Ariane’s Facebook account because of the Photo Map feature of Instagram.
Her Facebook friends then began sharing the photo of the two girls and she also took a screen shot of the place where the photo was tagged, which she discovered was in Holy Gardens, Antipolo.
Ariane’s friend EJ went to Antipolo last Jan. 2 and found “Sara,” who is the best friend of the taxi driver’s daughter. He also met the cab driver himself, who returned his friend’s stuff.
However, the wallet didn’t have money in it (there was still P5000 in it according to Ariane), plus all the photos on her iPod Touch were gone and that new apps had been installed.
