Interaksyon just reported that the Library of Congress is “assembling all of the 400 million tweets sent by Americans each day.” They are doing this because they believe that these messages no matter how short are an important part of the national narrative.
Social media aggregation company Gnip, Inc. is the one storing all these tweets, care of 133,000 gigabytes of storage space.
Sounds crazy, but they do have a point. We wonder if the Philippines can do – or would want to do – something like this.
