Radio veteran Johnny Midnight dies at 73

He was quite a character, that’s for sure.

“Veteran radio broadcaster Johnny Midnight, best known as one of the pioneers of Radyo Patrol in 1960s and the radio show Midnight Connection—where he introduced a healing technique also known as ‘toning’—passed away on Mon, Oct 6, after a long bout with prostrate cancer. He was 73,” reports Edwin P. Sallan on InterAksyon.com.

The report explained that the radio personality’s real name was John William Xerez Burgos Joseph Jr.

The report revealed that “he first became known as the radio reporter who first aired the collapse of the Ruby Tower building in Binondo as a result of the intensity 7.3 earthquake that rocked Manila in 1968.”
