In a dzBB interview reported on GMA News, Tanto took the opportunity to apologize to the Geralde family.

(I am so sorry, I know this cannot bring back the life of your family member but I didn’t mean [to shoot him]. I am so sorry. My judgment was clouded by anger, I didn’t mean for it to happen… It was an accident.)

The suspect also offered his side of the story, saying he only got mad because Geralde was being arrogant and threatening to break his windows.

Tanto said that if it happens again, he won’t do the same thing.

Kung maulit man yun, siguro kahit na saktan man ako, hindi ko na gagawin yun, sir,” Tanto said.

(If something like this happens again, even if I get hurt, I won’t do it again, sir.)

That’s if he’ll get out of jail and actually be allowed to drive again freely. A big if.

Tanto was brought to the Department of Justice to face two murder charges for slain Geralde and frustrated murder of Roselle Bondoc, an 18-year-old bystander struck by a stray bullet from Tanto. Bondoc is now out of danger.
