In a bid to lessen traffic woes during the holidays, the government of Quezon City has decreed that adjacent malls are not allowed to hold weekend sales at the same time.
Manila Bulletin pointed out: “The new set-up would prevent malls like SM North EDSA and TriNoma from having their product bargain time in the same period during the holidays.”
Elmo San Diego, chief of the QC Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), said that mall owners and management “should comply with the requirements of the Quezon City Hall for various permits, including those for traffic, before a mall sale on a certain date.”
San Diego appealed to the public for their understanding.
