Reelectionist Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista wants to turn the entire city into a tourist attraction, or a neighborhood in the Sims.
According to the QC government website, Bautista has ordered the city’s 142 barangays to submit plans for the improvement of each village, including the concreting of roads. The improvements also include renovating community waiting sheds to accomodate kiosks for vendors and locational maps to help tourists and visitors.
He also wants to paint all street corners black and yellow and replace all road signs “for uniformity purposes.”
The city will also turn center islands and sidewalks, especially along Tomas Morato Avenue, into linear gardens. The mayor also wants all the streets in the city “lined-up with green trees.”
“The goal of this initiative is the total transformation the city’s streets to come up with a more beautiful and attractive community. These improvements are in line with the administration’s commitment to make QC more attractive to tourists and investors,” the QC government said.
