The Quezon City government has hired 620 high school students to help them save up for the next academic year.
According to the QC government website, the students will work at the offices and departments of City Hall under the Special Program for the Employment of Students and Government Internship Program.
The SPES program will give 350 students P9,120 for 20 days, with the QC government shouldering 40 percent of their salary and the Labor department paying for the rest. Another 270 students, beneficiaries of the GIP, will work for 30 days and will receive a stipend of P10,260.
Mayor Herbert Bautista said the program will help the students save money for school and will also give them an introduction to public service.
