Que horror Saturday: 2 LRT trains collide because of a technical glitch

First: What’s a technical glitch?

Because that’s what LRT management is saying to explain the Saturday morning-collision between two LRT trains at the Monumento station.

Reports Yuji Gonzales on Inquirer.net, “LRTA spokesperson Atty. Hernando Cabrera said there was a power fluctuation in the area, which messed up the communication between the two trains. He added that the impact of the crash was not too strong as the oncoming train was moving slowly.”

No one was hurt save for the driver of the train, who sustained injuries.

According to a passenger the Inquirer report calls ‘Bria, the train she was on bumped into a halted train at around 7am Saturday. “Sobrang lakas po ng impact,” she was quoted as saying.

Normal operations are expected to resume this afternoon.
