Five suspects of the supposed frat-related violence that erupted at the University of the Philippines-Diliman campus last Thu, Jun 18, have undergone inquest proceedings.
There were two incidents of violence that erupted inside the UP campus. Four students were reported injured, with one of them badly hurt and hospitalized.
The initial reports on the incident did not mention the names of the fraternities involved in the rumbles. However, it was later revealed that the five suspects were from Upsilon Sigma Phi and the ones injured were members of Alpha Sigma.
Police have released mugshots of suspects Rannie Mercado, Rudolf Neral, Cheran Cabrito, Elias Villanueva, and Sean Rodriguez. The suspects were brought to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 9 in Cubao on Fri, Jun 19, for inquest. Their parents and their lawyers were with them.
