A female teacher at the New Era Elementary School was arrested at a mall in Quezon City for allegedly shoplifting PHP738 worth of hygiene products last Fri morning, Jan 15.
The teacher “went to the health and beauty section of the mall where she allegedly picked the items and placed them inside her bag,” reports Robertzon Ramirez in The Philippine Star.
The report noted: “Case investigator Police Officer 2 Jonny Paluyyawon of the Batasan Police Station said [she] paid PHP53 for the fresh fruits she picked from the supermarket. But she did not pay for the bottle of antiseptic worth PHP196.50; a bottle of baby oil, PHP78.50; a pack of toothpaste, PHP102; a bottle of hair spray, PHP60; and four packs of accessories worth PHP301.”
The teacher was detained, but was eventually released because the management of the mall refused to file a complaint against her.
