QC switching streetlights to LED

Bravo, for an enlightened move!

“Quezon City is in the process of replacing its streetlights with light-emitting diode (LED), as Mayor Herbert Bautista has requested a PHP20-million budget from the city’s Budget Department to purchase 900 LED lights and control panel systems,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report then cited a study, which claims that “switching to LED lights will lower the city’s carbon dioxide emission by 125 tons per year.”

QC residents will be happy to know that “some lights in the center island of Quezon Avenue have already been changed.”
