It seems that Metro Manila cities are really going all out for Typhoon Yolanda. Quezon City, for one, is making a significant donation to the survivors of the calamity.
“Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte said on Monday, Nov 18, that the Quezon City local government is set to extend PHP50 million in financial assistance to the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda,” Janvic Mateo on Philstar.com.
Belmonte revealed that the funds, which will come from the city’s Quick Response Fund (QRF), will be “made available to cities or municipalities that have been affected by the recent calamity.”
The money will be coursed through the local disaster risk reduction and management offices of the affected areas. QC’s PHP50 million donation is different from the support that Quezon City will provide for its three adopted municipalities in Leyte.
