There seemed to be no contest.
“Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte received fresh terms, winning by a landslide against their opponents,” reports Romina Cabrera in The Philippine Star.
According to the official tally of the city board of canvassers, Bautista got 729,917 votes. His closest rival, Leon Peralta of Buklod, actually came in a far second with 35,087 votes.
Belmonte also won the vice mayoral race, garnering 736,274 votes. Her closest rival was Henry Samonte, who received 26,254 votes.
Both Bautista and Belmonte are both on their third and final term.
