QC now requires malls and markets to have clinics

It doesn’t hurt to take precautions.

“The Quezon City council has approved an ordinance requiring all malls and public markets operating in the city to have clinics with at least one ambulance and a medical team on standby during operating hours,” reports Chito A. Chavez in the Manila Bulletin.

The ordinance, which was introduced by 3rd District councilor Jose Mario Don De Leon, imposes a fine not exceeding PHP5,000 and a possible cancellation of business permit for those who don’t comply with its stipulations.

According to the report, “existing malls and public markets that will be covered by the ordinance which will take effect immediately after the approval of Mayor Herbert Bautista will be given a six-month moratorium to comply with the requirements.”

On top of that, “all future investors and applicants will have to comply with the ordinance before they will be issued with business permits.”
