QC gov’t mulls curfew in wake of killings

This makes it seem like they had to wait for a celebrity to die before they did anything significant.

“Alarmed by the the series of killings in recent months, the Quezon City government is now seriously considering imposing a curfew to address the problem,” reports Dennis Carcamo on Philstar.com.

Mayor Herbert Bautista is likewise “pushing for the massive installation of CCTV cameras along strategic areas in the city in an effort to further improve the crime watch and prevention mechanisms.”

On Friday, June 13, Bautista called on Quezon City Police District to “expedite the investigation on the ambush-slay of international race car driver Enzo” Pastor,” who was shot dead on the evening of Thursday, June 12, by two gunmen on a motorcycle.

The incident happened at the junction of Congressional and Visayas Avenue.
